Water crisis for the world economy

- The Global Risk Report 2014 prepared for the World Economic Forum held at Davos demonstrates a probable water crisis within top 3 threatening risks for the World economy.

- Even though the effects of water resources are experienced on a local level, water safety is now defined as a global concern.

- For instance; a campaign that was conducted to draw attention on textile sector’s negative effects on water resources have gone so far that it began to affect the reputation of international corporations which then had to take action in order to reduce their impact on water resources.

Many brands and their subcontractors in the sector are having preparations on reducing their impact on water resources especially after being influenced by the awareness that environmentalist activists have created. It will be an inevitable investment for many industries to recover water due to changing protocols and restraints that the brands will dictate. After all, water crisis will be on the global agenda being one of the major issues in the world.
